VeloInsight Batch of 2020-21: Season Highlights
As a coach, I am humbled by the achievements and medals that my 2020-21 batch of athletes has won.
For each athlete that I work with, I develop a personalized coaching plan. I use all the knowledge, experience, and tried and tested training methods that I have learnt over my 10+ years in this sport to make a plan that suits the rider’s abilities and goals.
In India, most riders have one main ‘A’ race: the National Championships. As a coach, I work with athletes that want to make their mark at this event and pave their way beyond that, towards an International Cycling Career.
In Road Cycling, it is common to see athletes working hard throughout a season, but not achieving any commendable results at the end of it. But the converse is not true – it is almost impossible for someone to achieve results without putting the work in. Every athlete that performs up to the mark at their ‘A’ race has surely put in the required hard work with discipline and dedication.
To win races, it takes a mixture of strength, skill and race craft. Strength and Skill can be considered to be the basic requirements for every competitive cyclist. The athletes that combine these abilities with good ‘race craft’ put themselves in the best place to win races. My aim as a coach is to help all of my athletes develop in these 3 areas, to become well-rounded professionals in the sport.
Here are the most impressive performances by VeloInsight Coaching athletes at the 2020 National Championships:
